Our Behaviours

We all have our models that shape our perspective of the world. Models that shape our perspective of the environment around us.

One of the things in life is that our results are always produced.

If you focus on bad things in life, things you don't want, all kinds of possible problems, you are going to put yourself in a state that will support these thoughts and behaviours and results.

You may have created certain behaviours in the past, maybe even on a regular basis, but you are not this person. They're just your behaviours. You just produced certain states and behaviours that came from these states. You are not your behaviour.

If you create generalisations about yourself, you will create a belief that will direct your actions.

Your behaviours are the result of your state. Your state is the result of your internal representations and of your physiology, which you can change by the way in a moment. It all depends on your mental, internal representations. You can change that! You can change your thoughts. You have a choice how you represent things to yourself. And, as you represent things to yourself, in your mind, you change/alter your state. Your body reacts to your thoughts.

If you represent to yourself thoughts of jealousy towards your partner, as an example, you become angry and suspicious. You create this state in your body through your thoughts. And how are you going to treat this person? The person you love? Not well, I would say. You may attack them verbally or abuse them. Or you may just feel very bad inside and create some behaviour later. The person you love may have done nothing but your behaviour and your thoughts, that you produce, will probably want them to be with someone else, when you're in such a state.

You can change your thoughts of negativity to thoughts of love and compassion. This process will put you in a much better state and you will behave in much better way. And using the example above, this will make your partner feel wanted and will increase their desire to be with you.

Let me leave you with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson:

" The ancestor of every action is a thought."
