Pressure

Time

We live in times where there is a lot of pressure on all of us. Pressure to be the best at what you do, pressure to be a person who doesn't make mistakes. Pressure which we have to deal with wherever we go.

Even children are under pressure from an early age. They have to compete at school for better scores or better sport results. When we become adults, we compete for better positions at work. And often, we compare ourselves to people from social media or try to compete with people around us.

People become more aware that what we see on social media is not always true. However, there's this thing where people are still trying to show to everyone, at all cost sometimes, that we can do something best.

As we strive to be the best (on social media), we often forget that it is ok to make mistakes. It is ok to not be perfect. It is ok to not be the best (at least to the world online). Our mistakes, our "failures" are what makes us real. It is what makes us human. It is what makes us authentic.

We all have better and worse days. Worse days happen to all of us. We all have days when we don't feel like doing anything. In these moments, it's good to stop and realise that mistakes are ok, worse days are ok. Realise that they happen to everyone from time to time. Making a mistake doesn't make a less of a person. Making a mistake doesn't mean you won't succeed anymore. Making a mistake doesn't mean that you're not a good worthy person. Sometimes, the pressure you put on yourself makes you make a mistake. And sometimes, because of this pressure and because of your making a mistake, you accomplish something or you make a decision that changes your life. And if you didn't make this mistake, you wouldn't get to where you are now.

Sometimes, pressure is what we need to grow, to accomplish things we wouldn't accomplish without pressure.

Love,
